Raul Lopez Prida,the founder of Hacienda Art Deco Imports has been designing, constructing or remodeling buildings and estate homes throughout his adult life.  He graduated as an architect from the University of Morelos in Cuernavaca, Morelos,  Mexico.  As a young man he traveled throughout Mexico designing and building many private and government projects.  He traveled to many of the villages that produced the highest quality products designed by the most talented artisans.  His mandate was to find the best construction materials his country had to offer.

He, his American wife Patt and their young son Ernie immigrated to her home near San Diego, CA in 1987.  Raul’s keen eye for architectural detail and vast knowledge of construction soon landed him an opportunity building or remodeling some of the most prestigious properties in San Diego County.  While working for Southwind Custom  Builders, he contributed to the remodeling of the historic La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla and the construction of the world renowned Rancho Valencia Resort in Rancho Santa Fe.  The resort’s surrounding estate home owners are a Who’s Who from American politics, business and sports.  They trusted him to source and have installed the finest products from his homeland.

He knew quality, proper installation and had an eye for detail to give them the “wow factor” they were looking for.

Before Raul started his own company, he traveled back to Mexico to reconnect with the quarries, villages and the artisans he knew were the best.  He educated them about the “American way” and the importance of meeting delivery promises but not compromising the uniqueness and quality of their products.  He motivated them by opening many doors for their products in the U.S. market.  He set up warehouses in both San Marcos, CA and neighboring Tecate, Mexico.  He refined transportation and import documentation to expedite these products to the American market.  His sources all remain loyal partners to serve you.
